15 May Run For Fun!

Every year as we shake the doldrums of Winter, we look forward to the warmer weather and the start of our outdoor events. In particular, the start of FMP’s summer coincides with two amazing running and walking events, the Bourque Family Foundation 7.7K and the 1st Lt. Derek Hines Soldiers Assistance Fund Flag Day 5K.

Road races area among FMP’s favorite as you get to see the local communities coming together supporting great causes and challenging themselves for the betterment of others. We are just under a month away and can’t wait for these special events. See below for more information about each of the upcoming events and we hope that you will join us!

The Bourque Family Foundation 7.7K | June 9th – Ferncroft Country Club

The 1st Annual 7.7K road race is scheduled for June 9th at Ferncroft Country Club. The unique distance commemorates Boston Bruins Legend #77, Ray Bourque. The race will start and end at Ferncroft Country Club and a portion of the route will go through the course. This inaugural race benefits the newly formed Bourque Family Foundation.

Following the 7.7k race, there will be a party that includes live music, food and drinks for all.

The 7th Annual Flag Day 5K | June 16th – Cashman Park Newburyport, MA

The 7th Annual Flag Day 5K road race will start and end at Cashman Park on Saturday, June 16, 2018. The course will goes through the beautiful City of Newburyport and will end along the water. Proceeds from this year’s race will be used to continue the 1st Lt. Derek Hines Fund’s support of the Run To Home Base and other veterans and their families needs.

The race will be followed by a post race party featuring live music from Dalton and The Sheriff’s. The post race party is sponsored by Budweiser and Seaboard Products and all runners over the age of 21 will get a celebratory beer!
